The Botol Sosro Company is the pioneer of packaged ready-to-drink tea in Indonesia. The company first started as a small business run by the Sosrodjojo family in the year 1940. The family first started the business in a small town called Slawi. During that time, the product they sold was still dried tea.  Then, in 1953, the family decided to expand their business and introduce their product to the capital city Jakarta. The family promoted their product through product tasting in markets. And when they failed to distribute their products to potential customers by brewing the tea on the spot and by carrying the brewed tea in big pans to the markets, the idea to package the tea in bottles sprang up. The idea to sell ready-to-drink tea in bottles finally came up in the year 1969.

The Botol Sosro Company has 10 plants located all over Indonesia, including the one in Mojokerto. Mojokerto is chosen as one of the factory locations as the area provides good quality water in large quantities. So not only is the water in prime condition, it is provided in a large number as well. Mojokerto is also considered an optimal location in terms of transportation and distribution of the product. The product can be easily transported from the plant in Mojokerto to markets in other locations.

The company is greatly supported and encouraged by the Local Government of Mojokerto. The local government helps the company by providing and sorting the area or land where the company’s plants are situated on. They also come to the plant unannounced to check on the quality of the company’s products, making sure that the products are safe to be consumed and of good quality. They also act as a communication bridge between the public and the company, making sure that the majority of the public is heard and ensures that the company hears about any comments and concerns about either the product or the company itself. The local government ensures the safety and welfare of the public, and they only interfere with the establishment of the company if the company refuses to cooperate and if the company endangers or threatens the safety of the public and the environment.

Although the local government is prepared to handle any problems with the company, there have been no problems so far. The company has been cooperating with the public well, and it even actively participates in improving the welfare of the community. The company provides the people of the surrounding community with a larger option of job opportunities. The company benefits the people by giving scholarships to several schools around the area that are in need.

The public responds well to the establishment of the company. They happily accept the company as it advantages the public in many ways. Not only does the company provide quality goods to the public, it also provides many job opportunities. The company also tries to process their waste properly so that it does not harm the environment, thus causing minimum harm to the surroundings.

                  The Botol Sosro Company cares for the environment and the public. The company tries it’s best not to harm the public but instead, tries to benefit them in any way possible. They try to listen to any comments the public has for the company, and tries to improve their company as much as possible. The local government cooperates well with the company and plays and important role in the establishment of the Botol Sosro Company in the area. They support each other and they try to benefit each other as much as possible. The government acts as a supporting role in the company’s establishment, and ensures that the company does not harm the public in any way.
